Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of FTLA.  We follow a selective admission policy.  Please review the following requirements to see if you are a fit for the program.

 

Requirements for Admission

 

- Minimum of 2.5 GPA (Citizenship grade included) 

- On-track to graduate high school (A-G requirements)

- Currently meeting all school and district requirements (i.e. passing the CAHSEE)

- No suspensions (including in-school suspensions) 

- Involved in at least 1 extra-curricular activity (i.e. sports, ASB, band, after-school club)

- Show proof of transcripts and additional state testing if taken (i.e. SAT) 

- Student must demonstrate leadership, integrity, and accountability. 

 

Admission application packets are available for high school students for the 2015-2016 academic school year.

• Step 1: Complete the online application form.  FTLA will make arrangements to request documents (recommendations and transcripts) directly from student's school.

• Step 2: Complete the online student questionnaire.  Must be completed by the student in his/her own words.

• Step 3:  Sit for placement test.  Upon completing Steps 1 and 2, a document will be mailed to the address provided with the time, location, and date of student placement exam. Schedule a 2 hours window for the exam. 

• Step 4: Interview.  Appointments for interviews will be assigned to students following the placement test.  Students must dress professional and are encouraged to bring in any exiting works or portfolio he/she wishes to share with the panel.  

• Step 5 (FINAL STEP):  Offer for Admission. Admissions decisions will be mailed to applicant.
